Terms of Service — Plain-English
These Terms explain how you may use Mexico Lawyer Help and our services. We’re a legal concierge — not a law firm. Independent, licensed Mexican law offices provide legal advice/documents. Questions? Email concierge@mexicolawyerhelp.com.
Effective date: September 6, 2025
1) About these terms
By using our site or services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site or services.
- We may update these Terms. We’ll post the new date above and, if changes are material, we’ll show a clear notice on the site.
- Headings are for clarity and don’t affect meaning.
2) Our role (not a law firm)
Mexico Lawyer Help coordinates intake, communication, and delivery. The legal deliverables (e.g., lawyer letters, contract reviews, immigration route letters) are prepared by independent Mexican law offices. We do not provide legal advice, do not represent clients in court, and are not a substitute for a law firm. If you need representation or in‑person filings, we can connect you with a suitable law firm.
3) Services & deliverables
- Concierge triage: email‑first intake, document collection, and next‑step guidance in English.
- Attorney deliverables: typical items include demand/complaint letters on law‑firm letterhead, 2–3 page pre‑sign contract checks, and immigration route + checklist letters. A Spanish version is included when needed for recipients.
- Scope limits: we don’t handle emergencies or litigation. Complex or out‑of‑scope matters may require a separate engagement with a law firm.
4) Timing & credits
- Reply time: we aim to reply within 1 business hour during 09:00–19:00 ET.
- Delivery: usual delivery for standard items is 24–72 hours after intake confirmation. Subscriptions may include faster targets. Rush options are offered on select items.
- Speed promise: if we miss a promised timeframe for a paid item, we credit 20% of that item. Credits are not cash refunds and may be applied to a future invoice or purchase.
5) Plans, billing & renewals
- Subscriptions: Starter, Core, Plus — billed monthly in USD until canceled. Benefits (e.g., lawyer‑answer emails, deliverables, discounts) reset each billing cycle; some items may roll over as described on the Pricing page.
- One‑offs: you may purchase individual items (e.g., a letter or contract review) without a subscription.
- Payment processing: handled by third‑party providers. We don’t store full card numbers.
- Taxes: prices exclude applicable taxes/fees unless stated.
6) Refunds, cancellations & pauses
- Start of work: once intake is confirmed and work begins, fees for that item are generally non‑refundable because attorney time is allocated quickly.
- Speed‑promise credit: if we miss a promised timeframe, you receive a 20% credit for that item (see Section 4).
- Cancel/pause subscriptions: you may cancel or change plans at any time for the next billing cycle. Past periods are not refunded. Manage your subscription anytime in our Stripe Customer Portal.
7) Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate, complete information and timely responses.
- Ensure you have the right to share any documents/photos you upload.
- Review drafts promptly and follow sending/filing instructions carefully.
- Use deliverables lawfully and for your own matter only.
8) Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site or services. For example, you won’t:
- Upload unlawful, infringing, or malicious content, or attempt to disrupt our systems.
- Impersonate someone else or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Resell our services or use them for high‑risk emergencies or litigation.
9) Confidentiality & privacy
We handle your information privately and share it only with the independent law office and service providers as needed to deliver your item. See our Privacy Policy for details.
10) Independent law offices & other third parties
- Independent law offices are separate businesses responsible for their own advice and services. We’re not responsible for their acts or omissions.
- We may recommend or connect you with third parties (e.g., law firms, notarios, couriers). Those services are between you and them.
11) No guarantees of outcome
Legal outcomes depend on facts outside our control. We do not guarantee a particular result. Our guarantee is about process timing (see Section 4).
12) Intellectual property
- Site content (branding, text, layout) is owned by us or our licensors.
- You may use deliverables we provide for your own matter. Do not resell, publish, or reuse them for others without permission.
13) Disclaimers & liability limits
- As‑is: the site is provided “as is.” We use reasonable care but can’t promise error‑free or uninterrupted service.
- Indirect damages: to the extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Cap: to the extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims relating to the services will not exceed the amounts you paid to us for the item giving rise to the claim.
14) Changes to services
We may modify or discontinue features to improve the service. If a change materially affects a paid item in progress, we’ll work with you to make it right (which may include a credit).
